In order to adapt to external and internal pressures, organisations are often required to make changes to their structure and/or operations.  Depending on the circumstances, such changes may mean positions are made redundant or need to be restructured.

Unfortunately, redundancies and restructures are not risk free actions.  Employers need to be confident that positions they make redundant or wish to restructure are selected appropriately, and that their process meets any legal requirements.  Unfortunately, these requirements can be quite complex and difficult to understand, and failure to meet them could expose employers to costly claims.

Topics to be discussed include:

  • an outline of restructuring and redundancy
  • understanding the legal framework regulating restructuring and redundancy
  • redundancy and employee ‘protections’, what is a genuine redundancy?
  • selecting between employee positions
  • what are an employer’s obligations on consultation and redeployment?
  • how to determine employee redundancy entitlements

Presented by AFEI and AFEI Legal, this webinar will explain the legislative framework that regulates restructuring and redundancy.  In addition, it will also examine both the ways in which employers can select positions for redundancy and restructures, and the legal requirements of a genuine redundancy.  We will also explain how to determine employee redundancy entitlements and discuss relevant case studies.

This webinar would be of significant value to HR staff, business operators and anyone considering redundancy or restructures within a business.
