Overview

This half-day workshop will provide tools and skills for understanding and improving work behaviour and the work of team members and others in the workplace who through personality or other issues create work outcome and behaviour problems. It includes examples and case studies that participants can adapt for their workplace.

Course notes, group workshop, video, practical exercises, case studies.

Presenter

Ray Bennett has over two decades of experience researching, consulting and training managers and team leaders across Australia. He has advised organisations on strategies for managing teams and offsite teams in remote and regional Australia.

Managers, team leaders and those who have responsibility for the work of others in the workplace.

  • The causes of difficult personality and behavior issues in the workplace
  • Managing yourself to manage difficult people
  • Emotionally intelligent staff management
  • Developing techniques and tools for managing difficult people
  • Implementing plans and processes
  • Case studies, example in managing difficult people

Outcomes

On completion, participants should be able to:

  • Define what are unacceptable work outcomes and behaviour
  • Identify the possible causes and effects of poor workplace behaviour
  • Assess how they are affecting the difficult behavior
  • How to manage difficult personalities
  • Plan to reduce the effects of the difficult workplace behaviour
  • Implement short- and long-term strategies for managing difficult behaviour and poor work outcomes
  • Record and monitor incidents and actions to report to the senior manager if the difficult behaviour continues.

Award

A Certificate of Attendance will be issued at the completion of the workshop.
