WHS Act Seminars 

Are you ready for the WHS Act?

As of 1 January 2012, new Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation will come into effect. To provide guidance and support, AFEI will be running a series of seminars to help you understand how to manage these legislative changes.

These two new presentations will offer you a practical approach for:

Managers and supervisors are an essential link between OHS strategic direction and operational implementation. This workplace training package is relevant to managers and supervisors in a range of industries.

This course facilitates the development of contemporary knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to enable managers and supervisors to implement a risk management approach to their organisation’s OHS and Injury Management program. It is intended that they play an active and effective role in the workplace health and safety system.

• Key components of SWMS
• General guidelines for preparing SWMS
• OHS risk management
• Consultation requirements for preparing SWMS
• Establishing relationships between SWMS, OHS risk management, consultation and tool box meetings.

Award

It may have been some time since Committee members undertook their initial training and need to be up-to-date with regulatory changes and developments. This course can also be used as a follow-up to improve the skills of Committee Members and OHS representatives and the effectiveness of the Committee in the workplace.
