The aim of this course is to enable participants to collect and evaluate information relating to workplace crisis management so that work systems can be upgraded to ensure management can meet its responsibilities to provide a safe and healthy workplace.
A recommended pre-requisite is the completion of "OHS Risk Management".

Content
The topics covered in this course include:
- Definition of a workplace crisis
- What is crisis management?
- Development and implementation of crisis planning to prevent or mitigate the OHS outcomes of a crisis.
- Development of a number of management processes including:
- emergency assessments,
- plans and preparation,
- analysis,
- post incident support.
Award
A Certificate of Attendance will be issued at the completion of the course. A Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment will be issued to those who successfully complete the workplace based project as part of the Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety
Learning Outcomes
On completion of the course participants will be able to:
- Describe the types of crisis that an organisation may be exposed to
- Outline how the principles of risk management applies to crisis management
- Outline what is expected to occur during the event of a crisis
- Explain the requirements of crisis management
