This course involves the study of the interaction between people, the equipment they use and their general environment. The unit focuses on aspects of work design and work planning such as work layout, work flow, skills, individual variations and environmental factors. It looks at the application of relevant information and data about human capabilities and behaviour to the design of objects, facilities, procedures and environments that people use.

Content
- Apply ergonomic principles, processes and techniques of ergonomics
- General principals of office layout, workstations and equipment
- The study of the interaction between people, the equipment they use and their general environment
- Work design and work planning such as work layout, work flow, skills, individual variation and environmental factors
- Identify ergonomic interventions in the design process to optimise the match between people and their activities, equipment, environment and systems
- Identify OHS Hazards and conduct a risk analysis of associated risks across the life cycle of the designed product
Award
A Certificate of Attendance will be issued at the completion of the course.
A Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment will be issued to those who successfully complete the workplace based project as part of the Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety
